Rashed Khan Menon remanded for 5 days

A Dhaka court on Friday granted a five-day remand to Workers Party President and former minister Rashed Khan Menon in connection with the murder case of Dhaka's New Market area's businessman Abdul Wadud. 

Menon was produced before the court on Friday afternoon. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider's court passed the order for the remand. 

The former minister was arrested from the capital's Gulshan area on Thursday. 

Menon has been accused in a number of cases recently filed in relation to the deaths of protesters in clashes with law enforcement forces during the anti-discrimination student movement.
