DMCH doctors go on strike to protest assault, vandalism

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) doctors have decided to go on a strike to protest an incident of assault and vandalism in the emergency department. They have abstained from work since Sunday morning. 

Meanwhile, doctors of the Neuro Surgery Department in DMCH have announced a 24-hour ultimatum. They are still treating patients. However, they will take out a protest procession at 2pm on Sunday and take further decisions after that. 

DMCH Director Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter. 

On Saturday, three doctors of the Neuro Surgery Department were assaulted. Doctors have called for the identification and punishment of the ones responsible for the altercation.
