Joint operation to begin from Sept 4 to recover illegal arms

A joint operation will be conducted across the country from Wednesday in a bid to recover illegal arms.

Home Affairs Adviser Lt General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury confirmed the matter, said a statement issued Sunday.

Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs suspended firearm licenses issued to civilians during the 15-year tenure of the Awami League government.

The government set September 3 as deadline for the submission of these weapons to the concerned police stations.
