Doctors at all hospitals to resume work from Wednesday

Hospitals all around the country will resume activities as usual starting Wednesday, doctors have said. 

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Resident Doctor Abdul Ahad made the announcement on Tuesday. 

He said, "Hospital authority has ensured the safety of doctors as per our demand and detained the ones responsible, so the programme taken by doctors was halted. Patients will receive full services starting tomorrow."

There was a melee at DMCH on Saturday due to the alleged negligence of the death of a student injured in a road accident. At that time, a doctor was beaten up.

Following the incident, all government and private doctors in the country announced an indefinite strike at hospitals demanding the arrest of the culprits involved in the incident. 

Later, they postponed the programme after getting the assurance of arresting the attackers within 24 hours on Monday.
