Joint operation to recover illegal arms begins tonight

A joint operation comprising Bangladesh Army, police, BGB will begin across the country at 12:00 am on Wednesday in an effort to recover illegal firearms.

In this regard a statement of the Home Affairs Ministry was issued on Tuesday.

Earlier, the interim government suspended all license of firearms issued during the regime of Awami League government. 

The government also set September 3 for the gun owners to submit their firearms and ammunition along with the suspended licences to the relevant police stations.
