RU academic activities to resume on Sept 8

The academic activities of Rajshahi University (RU) will resume on September 8 (Sunday) following an unscheduled closure of around two months.

Apart from this, the admission process in first-year honours classes in the 2023-2024 academic year which remained suspended at present will resume within the shortest possible time.

The decisions were taken in a meeting held with all Deans today, Treasurer Prof Obaidur Rahman Pramanik said.

Accordingly, the departments will restart their scheduled classes and examinations simultaneously.

Relating to the resume classes, Dean of Business Studies Faculty ASM Kamruzzaman told BSS that they will also resume the process of first-year admission. Classes of the newcomers are expected to start by September 15 just after completing the admission process, he added.

Mentionable, academic activities remained suspended since July 1 as the teachers had launched their work-absent programme to press home their demands for the cancellation of the pension policy.
