Diamond World MD Dilip remanded in murder case

A Dhaka court has placed Diamond World Limited managing director Dilip Kumar Agarwal on three-day remand in a case filed over killing BNP activist Ridoy Ahmed.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan passed the order after police placed Dilip before the court seeking seven-day remand plea.

The case was lodged over the murder of Ridoy that took place in front of BRAC University in capital's Badda area on July 19.

Dilip was arrested by Rapid Action Battalion Tuesday night from Gulshan area in the city.

Ridoy was killed as police started firing indiscriminately on agitating students and people in Badda area on July 19.
