Maritime ports told to hoist local cautionary signal No. 3

A depression has formed over the Bay of Bengal and consequently, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has advised all maritime ports to hoist the Local Cautionary Signal no. Three.

According to a special weather bulletin issued on 8 September, the depression lies over the West-Central Bay and adjoining North-West Bay. It is likely to move in the north-west direction and intensify further. 

Under the influence of the depression, gusty/squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas. 

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra were advised to keep hoisted the Local Cautionary Signal no. Three (R) Three. 

All fishing boats and trawlers were advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution.
