Polytechnic students block Tejgaon Sat Rastar Mor

Students of the Dhaka Polytechnic Institute in the capital's Tejgaon have blocked the roads at the Sat Rastar Mor intersection to press home their demands, creating intense traffic congestion on Mogbazar, Mohakhali, Khamarbari, Farmgate, Shahbagh, and Karwanbazar areas. 

The protests started at around 10:30 am on Monday and continued till the filing of this report at 1:30pm. 

Students have brought forth a six-point demand, which includes- craft instructions whose postings in 2021 were controversial have to be withdrawn, the diploma engineering course has to be made four-year long and each semester should be made six months long, the post of deputy assistant engineer and similar posts should be fixed for diploma engineers, the Technical Education Board should be reformed, teacher scarcity should be remedied, and higher education for diploma in engineering students should be ensured.
