Listed drug dealer Shajahan held from Dhaka

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a listed drug dealer Shahjahan Mia, former chairman of Teknaf Sadar Union Parishad (UP), from the capital's Bashundhara residential area in the wee hours of Monday.

Assistant Superintendent of RAB ANM Imran Khan confirmed the matter to BSS on Monday.

Recently, video footage became available of Shahjahan, who is also the nephew of Awami League-backed former lawmaker Abdur Rahman Bodi, openly attacking the protesters with sharp weapons during the anti-discrimination student movement in Teknaf.

"He is accused of several cases including violence and narcotics. Necessary legal action will be taken soon against him," the RAB official added.
