5 dengue patients die

Five dengue patients died in the country during the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning, a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.

A total of 534 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals at the same time, it said.

The release also said, “During the period, 199 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city, while 333 were admitted to different hospitals outside the capital.” 

This year, the total number of cases rose to 16,819 while it was 3,21,179 in the last year.

A total of 102 deaths from dengue disease were reported during in 2024 while the number of dengue-related deaths was 1,705 in the last year.
