Journalists Shyamal Dutta, Mozammel Babu detained while fleeing to India

Journalists Shyamal Dutta and Mozammel Haque Babu have been detained by the local people in Dobaura border area of Mymensingh district on Monday morning.

The local people detained four people - Ekattor TV Editor-in-Chief and CEO Mozammel Haque Babu, Dainik Bhorer Kagoj Editor Shyamal Dutta, Ekattor TV Senior Reporter Mahbubur Rahman and private car driver Salim - in the border area located between South Maizpara and Porakandulia while heading to India by a private car at 6:00am, said OC Chan Miah.

Later, the locals handed them over to Dobaura police.

Superintendent of Police (SP) of Mymensingh Azizul Islam said that currently there is a case against the detainees and necessary action will be taken against them in the respective cases. 

Legal action is under process, he added.
