Ex-state minister for water resources Zahid Faruk arrested

Former state minister for Water Resources Colonel (Retd) Zahid Faruk Shamim has been arrested from the capital’s Baridhara area on Sunday evening. 

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) media and legal wing director Lt Col Munim Ferdous said a team of the elite force arrested Zahid Faruk in this evening.

He added that the arrestee has already been handed over to Detective Branch (DB) of police.

Faruk was wanted in several murder cases filed with different police stations.

The cases are related to the violence during the anti-discrimination student movement.
