Mahmudur Rahman sent to jail after surrendering

A Dhaka court on Sunday ordered Mahmudur Rahman, former editor of Amar Desh newspaper, to be sent to jail after he surrendered in a case related to the abduction and attempted murder of Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

Mahmudur Rahman appeared in court at around 10:50 am, surrendering through his lawyers with a request for bail.

After the hearing, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mahbubul Haque rejected his bail plea and sent him to jail. The court also ordered to give him division facilities in jail.
