Six police officers made additional IGP

Six senior police officers have been promoted to the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP).

To this end, Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a gazette notification signed by Deputy Secretary Abu Sayied on Wednesday.

According to the notification, the newly promoted Additional IGPs include Md Matiur Rahman Sheikh, Additional Deputy Inspector General (Addl-DIG) of Police Staff College, Dhaka (Promoted to DIG); Md Alamgir Alam, DIG, Police Headquarters; Sardar Tamij Uddin Ahmed, Addl-DIG, Special Branch (SB), Dhaka, (Promoted to DIG); Md Delwar Hossain Miah, DIG, Police Headquarters; Md Shah Alam, Additional IGP (Current Charge), SB; and Md Abdullah Al Mahmud, DIG, Bangladesh Police Academy, Sarda.

The promoted police officers will perform their duties at their current positions until further posting, the notification added.
