Mahmudur Rahman secures bail in Joy abduction, murder attempt case

Mahmudur Rahman, former editor of Amar Desh newspaper, has secured bail in a case related to the abduction and attempted murder of Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Mohammas As-Shams Jaglul Hossain granted the bail on Thursday. 

Mahmudur was ordered to be sent to jail after he surrendered in the case on Sunday. HE appeared in court at around 10:50 am, surrendering through his lawyers with a request for bail.

After the hearing, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mahbubul Haque rejected his bail plea and sent him to jail. The court also ordered him to be given division facilities in jail.
