BIWTA suspends water vessels on 6 routes from Dhaka

The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has suspended operations of all types of river vessels on six routes from Dhaka.

The authorities took the decision of suspension for the safety of the passengers, BIWTA said on Thursday.

Due to inclement weather, cautionary signal No. 3 has been advised for the maritime ports. Moreover, due to rolling waves, river vessel operations on Dhaka to Hatia, Dhaka to Betua, Dhaka to Khupupara, Dhaka to Charmontaj, Dhaka to Rangabali, and Dhaka to Monpura were suspended till further notice.
