Hizb ut-Tahrir Media Coordinator Imtiaz Selim remanded

A court has placed Imtiaz Selim, media coordinator of the banned organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, on a three-day remand in an anti-terrorism act case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahin Reza passed the order on Friday as police produced Imtiaz before the court pleading to place him on a seven-day remand in the case lodged with Shahbagh Police Station.

A team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) this morning arrested Imtiaz Selim from the city's Bashundhara residential area earlier the same day.

The arrestee was also wanted in two criminal cases filed with Pallabi and Khilgaon police stations. Two other cases are now under trial against Imtiaz.
