Former principal secretary Abul Kalam Azad arrested

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Principal Secretary Abul Kalam Azad has been arrested from Dhanmondi area in the capital on Saturday.

Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (DB) Police Chief Additional Police Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallik confirmed the arrest to the media.

Acting on a tip-off, DB police arrested Azad and he was taken to DB office.

Mallik said that there are specific complaints and cases against Abul Kalam. 

He will be handed over to the court seeking remand plea on Sunday.
