3 killed in gas cylinder explosion in Keraniganj hotel

Three people were killed and 10 others were injured in a gas cylinder explosion in a hotel in Rohitpur boarding market of Rohitpur union in Keraniganj on the outskirts of Dhaka at 7:30 pm on Saturday. 

Eyewitness Mansur Ali said after the cylinder explosion in Mayel Biriani shop near Ramerkanda Boarding in Rohitpur Union, people started running here and there. Local people rescued the injured and took them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where three people succumbed to their injuries.

Keraniganj Upazila Fire Station Master Md. Kajal Mia said so far three bodies have been recovered from the hotel fire.

The fire spread from one shop to several other shops nearby, he said, adding that fire fighters were working to douse the blaze.

The identities of the victims are yet to be identified, he added.
