Tapashee Tabassum Urmi sued for defamation

Tapashee Tabassum Urmi, an executive magistrate in the Lalmonirhat district administration, has been sued for defamation. 

Earlier, she was made an officer on special duty (OSD) to the Ministry of Public Administration, and later sacked, following a post on Facebook.

Tapashee had made a Facebook post about Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, sparking a huge criticism.

On Saturday (October 5), Tapashee wrote on Facebook: “The chief adviser of the constitutionally baseless interim government has said a reset button has been pushed. The past is erased. He deleted all the past history of the country by clicking a reset button. So simple. The countdown has begun for you, sir.”

When asked about the post, Tapashee said: “It is true that I shared the post on Facebook. I had set it to ‘only me’ on Facebook, so the transfer could be due to various reasons.”
