Abdur Rashid made cabinet secretary

The government has appointed Sheikh Abdur Rashid as the cabinet secretary for the next two years on a contractual basis.

A gazette notification, signed by Nilufa Yeasmin, senior assistant secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, has been issued in this regard on Tuesday.

Rashid replaces incumbent cabinet secretary Md Mahbub Hossain.

According to the notification, Rashid's two-year service will begin from October 14 or the day when he will join.

He was appointed as per Section-49 of the Public Service Act 2018, it added.
