Low pressure may form over the Bay soon

A low-pressure area may form over the Southwest Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has said. The weather over the country will remain mostly dry, with day and night temperatures remaining mostly unchanged. 

"Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country," said a BMD weather bulletin issued Sunday. 

The country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 35.5 degrees Celsius jointly at Mongla and Khepupara, while the minimum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 23.2 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am Sunday was recorded at 28 millimetres (mm) in Dhaka.

The sun sets at 05:34pm on Sunday and rises at 05:56 am on Monday in the capital.
