Ex-state minister Kamal Majumder remanded

A court has placed former state minister for industries and ex-parliament member of Dhaka-15 constituency Kamal Ahmed Majumder on a three-day remand in the Ikramul Haque murder case. 

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider's court gave the order on Saturday as police produced Kamal before the court and pleaded for a seven-day remand. 

Police arrested Kamal Ahmed Majumder from a house in Gulshan around 12:30 am, the officer-in-charge of Kafrul Police Station, Golam Mostafa, told BSS earlier.

Several murder cases were filed against him with different police stations, including Kafrul police station, relating to incidents of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5.
