DU gets Tk 34 lakh donation for skills development programme

Mitsubishi Corporation Bangladesh has donated Tk 34 lakh to Dhaka University (DU) to establish virtual classroom and skills development training at the university’s Japanese studies department.

Country Representative of Mitsubishi Corporation Bangladesh Hiroshi Uegaki handed over a cheque for Tk 34 lakh to DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury at the VC’s Lounge, according to a press release. 

Japanese studies department chairman Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Associate Prof. Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun, some other faculty members Mitsubishi Corporation Manager Syeda Shahtaz Saiara and Admin Manager Nusrat Jahan were present on the occasion.

Treasurer Prof Dr M Jahangir Alam thanked the Mitsubishi Corporation authorities for the donation and sought more support and cooperation from Mitsubishi Corporation in providing scholarships for financially challenged students. 

He stressed the need to introduce an internship programme for DU students at Mitsubishi Corporation to strengthen the relationship between industry and academia.
