Arefin Shakil gets Sher-e-Bangla Golden Award 2024

Rabiul Hasan, popularly known as Arefin Shakil, senior reporter of private television channel News 24, has been awarded the prestigious Sher-e-Bangla Golden Award 2024 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of journalism industry.

Former information secretary and chief adviser of Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq Research Council Syed Marghub Morshed, and Justice Dr Mohammad Abu Tariq jointly handed over the award to Arefin Shakil at a function at the central Kachi-Kachcha Auditorium in Dhaka on Friday.

Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq Research Council organised the programme on the occasion of 151st birth anniversary of AK Fazlul Huq. 

Arefin Shakil, also an active organiser, is an executive member of Reporters for Elections and Democracy (RFED), an organisation of professional journalists working on election and democracy.

Justice Dr. Syed Marghub Morshed spoke as the chief guest at the event. 

Prominent theater personality Pirzada Shahidul Harun, Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq Research Council Chairman Selina Akhtar, its Senior Vice-Chairman Mohamamd Manjur Hossain Isa were present on the occasion, among others.
