Former minister Abdus Shahid arrested in Dhaka

Former agriculture minister Abdus Shahid was arrested from the capital's Uttara late Tuesday. 

Confirming the matter to the Daily Samakal, Uttara West Police Station Officer in Charge Hafizur Rahman said police learned about the ex-minister's location and conducted a drive at a house at Uttara Sector 10 at around 11:30pm. 

Abdus Shahid, also a six-time former lawmaker of the Moulvibazar-4 constituency, was arrested in connection with three murder cases filed during the anti-discrimination student-led mass upsurge.
