IGP off to UK to attend INTERPOL assembly

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Mainul Islam has left Dhaka on Saturday night for the United Kingdom (UK) to attend the 92nd General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organisation, INTERPOL.

The IGP will lead a two-member delegation. Other member of the delegation is AIG of Police Headquarters Ali Haider Chowdhury.

The team will join the four-day assembly to be taken place from November 4 to 7, 2024 in Glasgow, UK. 

Representatives from 196 member countries of the INTERPOL will take part in the assembly. 

On the side lines of the assembly, Bangladesh delegation will hold bilateral meeting and views exchange with the representatives of different countries and Human Resources Management (HRM) division of the INTERPOL.

Bangladesh Police is set to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Australian Federal Police.

Mainul Islam is scheduled to back home on November 9.

On October 14 in 1976, Bangladesh became member of the INTERPOL.
