Travel ban imposed on Taposh

A court has banned former Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and his wife Afrin Tapos from travelling due to allegations of corruption.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain passed the order, allowing a plea from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday.

Deputy Director of the ACC Md Monirul Islam filed the plea at the court.

According to the case documents, the anti-graft body is probing allegations of amassing huge illegal wealth through corruption against Taposh. A travel ban should be imposed against him and his wife so that they cannot escape the country to evade justice, DD said in his prayer.
