Journalist Molla Jalal arrested

Police on Monday arrested Molla Jalal, former President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), in connection with a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, police said.

Jalal was arrested from the city’s Segunbagicha area in a case filed by a victim four days back with Shahbagh police under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

Following his arrest, police sent him to jail, Shahbagh police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Khaled Mansur told BSS on Tuesday.
