Cox's Bazar police arrest 19 UP members over 'secret meeting'

Police on Saturday arrested 19 Union Parishad (UP) members supposed to be Awami-affiliation from a residential hotel at Kolatoli of the district town on charge of holding "secret meeting".

Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Faizul Azim Noman said they arrested the UP members from the hall-room of the hotel.

"The operation was based on information that Awami League-affiliated UP members were conducting a secret meeting. The identities of the detainees are being verified," OC Faizul said.
