Abducted child from Lalbagh rescued

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has rescued an 8-month-old child abducted during a robbery at a home in Dhaka’s Lalbagh on Friday.

The elite force said they rescued the child Jaifa from Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area around midnight on Friday.

The RAB members have also arrested a woman in connection with the abduction, the elite force added.

RAB-10 Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Taposh Karmakar the child was returned to her mother soon after the rescue.

Additional details will be available at a press conference in the afternoon, RAB said.

A group of robbers entered the home of Abu Jafar and Farzana Akhtar near Dhaka’s Lalbagh on Friday. They later abducted the child after the robbery.
