Autorickshaw collision kills JU student, protests erupt in campus

A Jahangirnagar University (JU) student died on the campus after being hit by a battery-run autorickshaw in front of the Humanities Building on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased student was identified as Afsana Karim Rachi, a student of the Marketing Department at JU. 

To protest the incident, students have voiced an 8-point demand and have announced blockade in the campus on Wednesday. From 6:45am, all the gates in the university were locked up and studnets gathered at the main gate to protest. 

The university authority has suspended four employees in this incident.
