8 officials including former IGP shown arrested in ICT genocide case

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has shown eight officials including former inspector general of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun on charges of crimes against humanity and genocide during the July-August mass uprising.

They were produced before the tribunal's three-judge panel, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, at around 10:15am on Wednesday. 

Aside from former IGP Mamun, the others are- former NTMC director general Maj Gen (Ret) Ziaul Ahsam, Dhaka District former Police superintendent Md Abdullah Al Kafi, DMP's former DC Md Jasim Uddin Mollah, Dhaka's former addl. superintendent (Savar Circle) Md Shahidur Islam, Jatrabari Police Station former OC Abul Hasan, Gulshan Police Station former OC Mazharul Haque, and Dhaka North DB former inspector Md Arafat Hossain.
