Baharul Alam new IGP, Sazzad Ali DMP Commissioner

Retired deputy inspector general Baharul Alam has been appointed  as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for two years on contract.

Besides, the government has appointed former additional inspector general of police Sheikh Md Sazzad Ali as the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner for two years on contract.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued two separate circulars on Wednesday on the new appointments.

The notices also said that the positions are subject to them cutting off any ties with other professions, businesses, or work engagements.

"This order has been issued in public interest,” said the circulars.

The circulars added as saying, “Other terms of the appointment will be fixed by the contract."
