Battery-run rickshaw drivers block road near Press Club

Battery-run rickshaw drivers have gathered in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka with an 11-point demand, including lifting the High Court ban on battery-run rickshaws plying on main roads and stopping traffic in the adjacent area. 

Protesters started to gather in the area from around 11:30am on Sunday, arriving from many areas in the capital. They claimed to have converged under the banner of the Autorickshaw-van-easybike Labour Union. 

Members of law enforcement agencies were also seen gathering in the area to keep the situation under control.
