Rickshaw drivers protest, block Agargaon

Battery-run rickshaw drivers have gathered at the Agargaon intersection, halting traffic on the adjacent roads. They are calling for lifting the High Court ban on battery-run rickshaws plying on main roads in the capital. 

Protesters started to gather in the area from around 9am on Monday. 

Confirming the matter, Traffic-Mirpur Addl Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Yasina Ferdous said police are diverting vehicles from the Mirpur 10 intersection.  

The protesters left the area after 4 hours, restoring traffic in the area.
