Former minister Asaduzzaman Noor attacked at BSMMU

Former cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor was attacked at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital when he was taken there for treatment on Saturday afternoon. 

According to eyewitnesses, several patients who were injured in the July mass uprising attacked the former minister. 

Asaduzzaman Noor was arrested from the capital's Bailey Road on 16 September. He was jailed afterwards. 

Noor has been an Awami League MP since 2001. He was elected from the Nilphamari-2 constituency in the 22nd National Election. He served as the cultural affairs minister from 13 January 2014 to 7 January 2019.
