Govt repeals Quick energy supply act

The Quick Enhancement of Electricity and Energy Supply (Special Provision) Act 2010 has been repealed. 

After the approval of the Advisory Council, the President promulgated an ordinance repealing the law on Thursday (28 November).

On 20 November, the Advisory Council endorsed the policy and gave the final approval to promulgate the 'Quick Enhancement of Electricity and Energy (Special Provisions) (Repeal) Ordinance, 2024'.

The 2010 act will be repealed. However, the deals made under the act will remain.
