Bangladesh mission in Agartala suspends services for indefinite period

The Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala, Tripura has suspended all visa and consular services until further notice, said a notice signed by First Secretary and Head of Chancery Md Al Amin.

In the notice on Tuesday, the assistant high commission announced that the suspension will come into immediate effect.

On Monday afternoon, a group of protesters of the Hindu Sangharsh Samity attacked the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala.

According to the media reports, the protesters entered the mission, pulled down the Bangladesh flag, tore it up.

Protesting the incident, Bangladesh foreign ministry said, "The accounts received conclusively attest that the protesters were allowed to aggress into the premises, by breaking down the main gate of Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in a pre-planned manner."
