Political govt may be formed next year: Wahiduddin Mahmud

Education Adviser Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud said that a political government might be formed next year.

He said, “We are a very short-time government. And the issue of a political government coming next year is my personal opinion. I don't know what will actually happen. We may see a political government next year.”

He said this at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) Annual Development Conference at a hotel in Gulshan on Saturday morning.

Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud said economic and income inequality is a major concern in Bangladesh at the moment. 

Quality education is needed to eliminate inequality, which Bangladesh is far from, he opined.

“However, discussions are ongoing to continue the opportunities and benefits received from developed countries. Many countries have responded positively,” he added.
