HC scrap writ seeking investigation against corruption of over 50 lower court judges

The High Court on Tuesday summarily scrapped a writ petition filed seeking an investigation into the corruption allegations against over 50 lower court judges.

Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Ray Chowdhury rejected the petition filed by advocate Aminul Ehsan Jubair, where Additional Attorney General Arshadur Rouf moved for the state.

The petitioner advocate Aminul Ehsan Jubair yesterday filed the writ before the court on the basis of a media report carried by a newspaper on October 14 titled "Unbelievable Wealth of Nearly Fifty Judges and Officials: Hundreds of Crores in Their Accounts."

The court after hearing both the sides summarily rejected the writ. 

Law Secretary, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission and Registrar General of Bangladesh Supreme Court were made respondents in the writ.
