BDR massacre: Committee to be formed in 5 working days

The Ministry of Home Affairs will form a committee within the next five working days to ensure justice for the BDR massacre, Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Jahangir Alam has said.

He said at a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday that this committee would comprise retired judges, police officials, and members of the armed forces, with a majority representation from the Armed Forces. 

“The committee will be tasked with a full-scale probe into the incident to uncover all aspects of the tragedy,” the adviser said.

While the committee would conduct a comprehensive investigation into the BDR mutiny, the decision to launch a reinvestigation remains under the court's jurisdiction, he said.
