BSKF, BFUNPW leaders demand 10th wage board for journalists

Leaders of Bangladesh Sangbadpathro Karmachari Federation (BSKF) and Bangladesh Federal Union of Newspaper Press Workers (BFUNPW) have demanded forming the 10th wage board immediately for journalists and newspaper employees-workers.

They also urged the owners of the newspapers to implement the 9th wage board award and pay the dues of journalists and sought government’s intervention in realization the dues, said a release on Saturday.

They made the call when addressing a joint meeting of the BSKF and BFUNPW at the temporary office of BSKF at Motijheel.

BSKF president Matiur Rahman Talukder spoke at the meeting as the key speaker with BFUNPW president Md Alamgir Hossain Kan in the chair.

BFUNPW Secretary General Mostaq Ahmed, BSKF Secretary General Md Khairul Islam, and its leader Mohammad Ali Khan, among others, spoke at the meeting.

The leaders said the 9th wage board award was given nearly five years ago. But many media outlets have not executed the award till now, they added.

Urging the present interim government to declare the 10th wage board immediately, they said the ousted government was silent in this regard.
