Govt declares state mourning on Monday at Hassan Ariff's death

Bangladesh will observe a one-day state mourning on Monday (December 23) at the death of interim government's Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser AF Hassan Ariff. 

The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.

The national flag will be kept at half-mast at all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions, all government and non-government buildings including educational institutions and Bangladesh missions abroad in observance of the state mourning.

Special prayers will be offered at all mosques and other religious institutions seeking eternal peace of the departed soul.

Hassan Ariff died at the age of 83 from heart disease at Dhaka's LabAid Hospital at 3:10pm on Friday.
