Two more dengue deaths reported in 24 hours

Two more dengue deaths were reported in 24 hours till Sunday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.

With the new ones, the fatality count of the mosquito-borne disease rose to 563 this year.

Currently, 1,064 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country, it said.

So far this year, a total of 100,194 dengue cases have been reported.

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 1,705 people, making it the deadliest year on record.

According to the DGHS, 321,179 dengue cases and 318,749 recoveries were reported in 2023.
