DMP bans fireworks during Christmas celebrations

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all kinds of fireworks, firecrackers, and sky lanterns in the capital city to ensure smooth and safe Christmas celebrations, which will be observed on 25 December (Wednesday). 

In a public notice issued on Tuesday, DMP Commissioner Md Shajjad Ali announced the ban, which will come into effect from Tuesday midnight till midnight of the following day.

The ban was imposed under section 28 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance to maintain law and order in the capital.

The DMP has sought the cooperation of the city dwellers to ensure the safe celebration of Christmas, the largest religious festival for Christians.
