President to host Christmas Day reception on Wednesday noon

President Mohammed Shahabuddin will host a reception for the Christian community members at Bangabhaban on Wednesday noon, on the occasion of Christmas Day, the Christians’ festival celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

“The reception programme for the Christian community members will begin at 12 noon at the Durbar Hall of the Bangabhaban,” President's Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam told BSS on Tuesday.

The Head of the State is scheduled to exchange greetings with the Christian community members on the occasion.

As many as 500 guests have been invited to the Presidential palace, he added. 

President’s wife Dr Rebeka Sultana, Religious Affairs Adviser to the interim government Abul Fayez Muhammad Khalid Hossain, Bishop Bejoy Nicephorus D’Cruze, secretaries concerned, some envoys and representatives from different foreign missions, distinguished persons of the Christian community, and religious leaders are expected to attend the reception.

He will also address the Christian’s community people through media 12:10 pm on Wednesday. 

The President is scheduled to cut a cake and take part in the photo-session on the occasion. 

Later, the guests and others will be entertained with the traditional snacks in the Bangabhaban.
