Bus driver of Dhaka-Mawa Expressway toll plaza accident arrested

Members of  Raid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested the driver of the bus that rammed into three other vehicles parked at the toll plaza of Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in South Keraniganj, killing six persons including four of a family, on Friday morning, from Siddhirganj in Narayanganj district.

The arrested has been identified as Mohammad Nuruddin, 26, driver of the killer bus. 

A squad of RAB arrested Nuruddin from the Siddhirganj Thana area of Narayanganj district on Friday night, said a brief message from the RAB on Saturday.

RAB found in the initial interrogation that Nuruddin's license was not renewed. He was addicted to drugs, but he claimed to be sober on the day the accident happened. 

The driver also claimed that the bus' brake was faulty. After informing the bus owner, he told the driver to drive slowly. 

Nuruddin also claimed that he tried to use the brake multiple times during the accident.
