Heavy fog suspends ferry movement on Daulatdia-Paturia route

Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma River remained suspended since early Tuesday (December 31) due to dense fog.

One ferry became stuck in the middle of the river early on Tuesday. Ferry's marking light becomes faint because of fog. So ferry movement was suspended by the authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at around 6:30am to prevent any accidents. 

BIWTC Aricha Branch Manager (Commerce) Md Salam Hossain confirmed the matter. Ferry movement will resume when the fog lifts and visibility returns. More than a hundred vehicles remain stranded on both ferry ghats.
